BCSD News Release: Barnwell Elementary School Selected for SRP Federal Credit Union Education Investment
BARNWELL, S.C. — Barnwell County School District is pleased to announce that Barnwell Elementary School has been selected as one of 82 elementary schools across the region to receive funding through SRP Federal Credit Union’s latest investment in education.
SRP Federal Credit Union is investing a total of $207,500 in elementary schools across 10 counties in South Carolina and Georgia as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting students, educators and local communities. Each selected school will receive approximately $2,500 to support educational opportunities and resources for students.
Barnwell Elementary School is among the schools chosen to benefit from the initiative. The funding provides schools with flexibility to address needs that can make a meaningful difference for students, including educational resources, student programs, clubs, field trips and other learning opportunities.
“We are excited about what this support will allow us to do for our students at Barnwell Elementary,” said Principal Mark Carson. “These funds give us another opportunity to enhance the experiences we provide for our students and respond to needs within our school. We appreciate SRP Federal Credit Union for choosing to support BES and for showing our students that our community believes in their success.”
The elementary school initiative represents another chapter in a growing partnership between SRP Federal Credit Union and Barnwell County School District. Earlier this year, SRP presented more than $71,000 to four BCSD schools through its Affinity Debit Card Program. Those funds benefited Barnwell High School, Blackville-Hilda High School, Williston-Elko High School and the Barnwell County Career Center.
“SRP has been a longstanding partner of our school district, working alongside us for many years to support our schools, our students, and the communities we serve. I continue to be impressed by the many ways SRP expands that support and finds new opportunities to make a meaningful difference,” said BCSD Superintendent Dr. Crissie Stapleton. “We are incredibly grateful for their community-minded approach and their continued investment in the people and future of Barnwell County.”
Through both initiatives, SRP continues to demonstrate the impact that strong partnerships between schools, businesses and community organizations can have on public education.
