August 31, 2026 — Barnwell High School will soon be in the regional spotlight as part of WJBF NewsChannel 6’s “Your Hometown Road Trip” series.
A WJBF crew visited Barnwell High School on Monday, August 24, to film a special feature highlighting the school, its students and staff, and the pride and traditions that make the Warhorse community special.
The feature is scheduled to air on Friday, September 4, as WJBF prepares for the football matchup between Barnwell High School and Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. Viewers will have an opportunity to see the Barnwell High School feature leading up to the game and again during halftime.
The visit gave Barnwell High School an opportunity to share its story with viewers throughout the region and showcase the people, programs, opportunities and school spirit that contribute to the Warhorse experience.
“We are excited for this opportunity to shine a spotlight on Barnwell High School and share some of the many things that make our Warhorse community special,” said Barnwell High School Principal, Derek Youngblood. “Our schools are filled with talented students, dedicated employees and moments worth celebrating, and we appreciate WJBF for giving our community an opportunity to share that story with a wider audience.”
The “Your Hometown Road Trip” series takes WJBF viewers into communities across the region, highlighting local schools, traditions, people and places in connection with high school football matchups.
Barnwell County School District encourages Warhorse families, alumni and community members to tune in on September 4 and help celebrate Barnwell High School as it takes center stage.
